March 12, 2002 Meeting Summary
The March 12 meeting summary was approved with one minor revision.
Treasurer's Report
- The Barnes and Noble Bookfare netted the PTO $1,604. The money will
be allocated in equal thirds to Arts, Music and Strings.
- The Carnival netted $1,854.
- The Book Fair associated with the Carnival netted $1,029. Don Crary
said this money would be used to update equipment such as VCRs and monitors.
- Playground allocated $7,000. Of that amount $2,500 has been spent on
new equipment.
Carnival Update
- Raffle
- 546 tickets for general raffle sold
- 680 tickets for three grand prizes sold
- Next year the tickets should be redesigned so that all raffle tickets
are the same size when placed in the "pick" box
- All the remaining first aid kits were raffled off
Playground
The Playground Committee is waiting on MMSD to install the new
equipment. We will probably purchase wood chips to place in areas in which
the large sewer pipes were removed.
MSCR
The MSCR after school classes are now over. All were successful with
the exception of the Drill Team in which the instructor was not able to meet the
time commitment.
