204-2329
When your child will be late or absent from school, please call the school's Safe Arrival Phone number - 204-2329 - by 8:45 a.m. on the day of the absence. A recorded message will ask you to leave your name, your child's name, and classroom teacher, the date(s) your child will be absent, and the reason for the absence or tardiness.
The Safe Arrival Phone Line is open 24 hours a day. As soon as you know your child will be absent, call 204-2329.
Each day, for children who are absent but for whom we have not received a telephone call within 30 minutes after school starts, we will call you to make sure your child is at home. We must have a telephone number on file where we can reach you between 8:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. The school will make two attempts to reach the parent. Please make every attempt to call us first.
Market Day is the major money maker for the ORE PTO. Parents order food each month from Market Day. The food is delivered to ORE once a month, organized by volunteers, and the people that ordered the food come to the school to pay and pick up the food.
The lunch period is 30 minutes long. Usually, children spend the first half of the period eating and the remainder outside at recess.
Students may purchase hot lunch or bring a sack lunch. Milk is available at 35 cents per carton for sack lunchers.
Other Lunch Information
Lunch cost $1.65 per day, including milk, with collection made one week at a time. Total cost per week: 5 days x $1.65 = $8.25 per week.
Collection date checks for participants in our school lunch program must be received at school on Wednesday a.m. only for the week or month that follows. (Collections are received and tabulated and counts are then called into our central kitchen for ensuing week.) Monthly payments are preferred. Payments received are deposited into the computer accounting system. Students who have negative account balances will not receive a lunch until payment is received. Families will receive notices of negative account balances weekly.
Please send checks for payment. Cash is easily lost and hard to verify. Checks should be made out to Orchard Ridge Elementary School and submitted in an envelope clearly marked with your child's name, grade, teacher, and amount.
Pizza Hut will continue this year. It will be offered every month. Pizza Hut lunch regular cost is $2.00, $0.40 for reduced lunch, and free for free lunch students. The exact date Pizza Hut is offered is printed on a monthly menu sent home with each student.
